Another Australian startup has entered the legal directory space.
We’ve written before about fellow Australian lawyer matching sites LawPath and LegalVision.
This time it’s Melbourne-based Brief It, which has the tag “post your brief and let our network of lawyers pitch to you.”
According to founder Jeremy Tompkins, the site takes a different approach to connecting clients with lawyers.
Brief It works by clients posting a brief, comparing proposals from lawyers and then making an informed choice to select a lawyer. Our marketplace model means that a client’s brief is open to our network of lawyers rather than being referred to one lawyer.
We hold the view that the client is best placed to judge the right lawyer for them, based on a variety of factors such as skill set, cost, approach to task, scope of services and assessment of client reviews.
This focus on visibility and choice is designed to enhance legal outcomes and fee savings for the client.”
Mr. Tompkins was formerly a corporate lawyer at New Zealand firm Hesketh Henry and Australian firm Gadens, and an executive at Siemens, before launching Brief It in September 2013.
